Sinilille lugu

Eesti veterani toetussümboli loomise idee sündis veteranide endi keskel veteranipoliitika väljatöötamise käigus 2012. aastal. Veteranid tõid eeskujuks eelkõige Suurbritannias, Kanadas ja Austraalias levinud kommet kanda veteranide austuseks punast mooniõit. Inspireerituna mooniõie kampaaniast ja Eesti Vabadussõja-aegsest laulust “Enne veel, kui kustub eha”, pakkusid veteranid toetussümboliks sinilille.

Sinilill valiti veteranide toetussümboliks 2013. aasta kevadel toimunud avaliku ideekonkursi tulemusena. Konkursile laekus 31 ideekavandit, mille seast veteranidest ja ekspertidest koosnev žürii tunnistas parimaks disainer Heino Prunsvelti töö “Sinilill”.SINILILL


Võidutöö autori Heino Prunsvelti sõnul kasvas sinilille idee välja Kaitseväe mütsimärgist, mille ta 1992. aastal kujundas.

„Toonasest kogemusest tekkis mõte ühendada mütsimärk sinilillega ja teha nendest stiliseeritud kooslus. Sinilill sobib toetussümboliks suurepäraselt, sest on üks väheseid lilli, mis veteranipäeval looduses õitseb ning samuti teab seda lille iga eestlane,“ lausus Prunsvelt.

Kaitseväelase ja veterani nooremveebel Rasmus Penno sõnul on sinilill kaitseväelastele südamelähedane. “Kaitseväelased tunnevad hästi Vabadussõja-aegset laulu sõjamehe hauakünkal õitsvast kolmest sinilillest. Veteranina on mul väga hea meel, et sinilill toetussümboliks valiti,“ ütles nooremveebel Rasmus Penno.
